Two Day In-Person Marketplace: Friday, December 2 - Saturday, December 3, 2022

All accepted makers are required to:

  • Participate in BOTH Friday and Saturday, No exceptions.
  • Complete a Virtual Maker Profile page by Sunday, November 13. See below for details.
  • Have Crafters Liability Insurance. For more information, visit actinsurance.com.

Application Fee: $20 (non-refundable)


Standard Vendor Space: $300 

  • In-person event (2 days)
  • 10-by-10-foot display space
  • One 8-by-2.5-foot table 
  • Two chairs
  • Load-in and load-out assistance from Convention Center staff
  • Endcap placement and electricity are additional fees (see below)
  • All accepted makers must create or update an existing virtual maker profile page (see below)

Expanded Vendor Space: $600 (Only 20 available)

  • In-person event (2 days)
  • 10-by-20-foot display space
  • Two 8-by-2.5-foot tables
  • Two chairs
  • Applicants must request an expanded space during the application phase
  • Spaces assigned on a first-come-first-served basis in order of payment received
  • Once full, accepted vendors can pay for a standard 10-by-10-foot space 
  • Load-in and load-out assistance from Convention Center staff
  • Endcap placement and electricity are additional fees (see below)
  • All accepted makers must create or update an existing virtual maker profile page (see below)

Craft Corridor Vendor Space: $150

  • In-person event (2 days)
  • 8-by-8-foot display space 
  • One 6-by-2.5-foot table 
  • Two chairs
  • Load-in and load-out assistance from Convention Center staff
  • Pre-event assistance for emerging makers
  • Endcap placement and electricity are additional fees (see below)

  • All accepted makers must create or update an existing virtual maker profile page (see below)

IMPORTANT! These spaces are reserved for makers who fall into one or more of the following categories:

  • Early-career makers who are new to selling at large in-person markets
  • Makers who have never participated in the Holiday Market in the past
  • Previous Youth Maker participants who have aged out of the program
  • Please note: If you are new to Handmade Arcade but not to vending at maker markets in general, you should apply for a Standard Table.

Additional Fees:

  • $65 Electricity Fee
  • $50 endcap request (i.e., the end of an aisle): A limited number of endcaps can be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Refunds are given to anyone who makes an endcap request that cannot be honored.

Vender space fees are due by Friday, October 14, 2022.

If payment is not received by the due date, the accepted applicant’s vendor space will be forfeited and offered to a waitlisted applicant. 
Vendor space fees (including extra costs for electricity and preferred spaces) are not refundable after October 31, 2022 


Virtual Maker Profile

The Handmade Arcade Virtual Maker Profile will allow attendees to browse the makers participating in the Holiday Market before they attend the event. All accepted makers must create or update an existing virtual profile page (formerly called the Virtual Marketplace). Required fields include business name, profile photo or logo, product category, contact info, and at least ONE slide show photo. Optional information includes the About Me narrative, website and social media links, and product images and links. 

Updates to the Virtual Maker Profile must be completed by Sunday, November 13. This is an opportunity for attendees to get to know the accepted vendors before the event.


Market Details

Friday

  • Accepted makers must set up on Friday afternoon between 12 and 4 PM. Convention Center Teamsters are available to help. 
  • Accepted makers must participate in the Happy Hour Preview Party on Friday night.
    • Happy Hour Preview Party starts at 5 PM; makers must stay until the event ends at 7:30 PM.
    • The Friday Night Happy Hour Preview Party is an excellent opportunity to set up early, make some early sales, and meet and mingle with fellow vendors.  

Saturday

  • Accepted makers must be at their booths by 8:30 AM Saturday morning to prepare for the 9:30 AM Early Bird shopping hour.
  • Handmade Arcade will reserve a block of rooms at a reduced rate for Friday night and Saturday night at The Westin Pittsburgh across the street from the Convention Center.
  • Accepted makers may not leave or tear down their space until 7 PM without the express permission of Handmade Arcade’s executive director.

Post-Event Survey

  • After the event, makers must share information with Handmade Arcade by filling out a post-event survey, including their sales numbers.
